International hotel management group Kew Green Hotels has completed the acquisitions of Hotel Brooklyn Manchester and Hotel Brooklyn Leicester. Following the acquisition, both hotels will be rebranded as voco hotels, as part of Kew Green Hotel’s franchise agreement with leading hotel company IHG Hotels & Resorts (IHG).
The hotels both feature decor inspired by the history of New York’s Brooklyn neighbourhood. Hotel Brooklyn Manchester, located in the centre of Manchester, features 189 bedrooms, a bar and restaurant and flexible event spaces that can cater for both business and leisure events.
Hotel Brooklyn Leicester, situated in the heart of Leicester, has 191 bedrooms and, like its Manchester counterpart, features a bar and restaurant and flexible event and meetings spaces aimed at both leisure and business guests and events including parties, conferences and launches. The hotel has been recognised for its commitment to inclusivity and accessibility, being awarded the Accessible and Inclusive Tourism Award at the 2023 Leicestershire Promotions Tourism & Hospitality Awards.
Chris Dexter, CEO of Kew Green Hotels said, “We are delighted to welcome these vibrant urban properties into the Kew Green family. We look forward to working with each of the hotel teams and our global partners at IHG Hotels & Resorts, to transform each hotel into a voco to reflect each hotel’s character and charm.”
Matt Walton, Senior Director, UK&I Development at IHG Hotels & Resorts, added: “We are thrilled to embark on this journey with long-standing partners, Kew Green Hotels, to bring two exciting properties to these vibrant UK cities. Our voco hotels brand is one of our fastest growing, with over 100 properties signed and opened globally.”
The transformation of the sites into voco hotels is expected to be completed by mid-2024 and Walton said that the newly-renovated hotels would be an “example of what voco hotels embodies.”
