Wealth management and professional services group Evelyn Partners has expanded in the North of England with its latest acquisition. The group is set to acquire the offices of Haines Watts in Newcastle, Leeds and Manchester for an undisclosed sum.
The deal is the sixth acquisition by Evelyn Partners’ professional services business since the start of 2023, reflecting its strategy of augmenting strong organic growth with acquisitions of high-quality, complementary firms that help broaden its geographic presence.
The Haines Watts teams at the offices provide a broad array of services and solutions support entrepreneurial, owner-managed businesses. The deal significantly strengthens Evelyn Partners’ presence in the North of England, while bringing five partners, nine directors and more than 150 staff into its fast-growing professional services business.

Last year, Evelyn Partners acquired Newcastle and Harrogate-based Leathers, Cambridge-based Ashcroft Partnership, Tunbridge Wells-based Creaseys, Beaconsfield-based Harwood Hutton and an international disputes team for its Forensic Services business.
As of March 31 2024, the group has £61.8 billion in assets under management (AUM) and is the UK’s seventh-largest accountancy by fee income. It has a network of offices across 29 towns and cities in the UK, Republic of Ireland and Channel Islands.
