The 21-bedroom Homewood Park Hotel & Spa, located on the outskirts of Bath, has been acquired by the estate of the 7th Marquess of Bath, Longleat Enterprises.
Longleat purchased the hotel - which made up part of the former Von Essen property portfolio - just weeks after its acquisition of Bishopstrow House in Wiltshire, another former Von Essen property.
David Bradley, Longleat chief executive, told Property Magazine International that the purchase of Homewood Park - which includes the renowned Lime Restaurant - represented a 'logical strategic acquisition’.
“This is the second strategic purchase we have made in as many weeks in our ongoing programme of acquisitions and investment to cement our position as the number one Safari and Adventure Park in the UK.
“Homewood Park further compliments our position as a leading leisure attraction venue and provides our visitors with a second beautiful hotel location and facilities to make their visit to Longleat even more special,” said Mr Bradley.
Seven of the 26 hotels which were owned by Von Essen prior to its collapse into administration earlier this year have now been sold, with more than 200 bids from interested parties received in relation to the hotel portfolio.
Some of the hotels still on the market include Cliveden in Taplow, Berkshire, The Royal Crescent in Bath, Sharrow Bay in Ullswater, Cumbria and Ston Easton Park near Bath.
