The Llangoed Hall Hotel in Powys, Wales, has fallen into administration, citing the turbulent economic climate.
The four-star, 23-bedroom hotel, which was previously owned by Sir Bernard Ashley, co-founder of homeware chain Laura Ashley, lies close to the village of Llyswen.
The property, which dates back to 1632, has operated as a hotel since 1990, and was sold onto the Von Essen hotel group in 2010 following Sir Bernard's death a year prior. The Von Essen chain fell into administration in April of this year.
Now, PricewaterhouseCoopers (PwC) has been appointed to oversee the administration of Llangoed Hall Hotel Ltd and the Brecon-based Llangoed Properties Ltd.
PwC confirmed that the hotel 'aimed to honour' all booked functions such as weddings, but in the instances where bookings were cancelled, deposits would not be refunded.
PwC's Karen Dukes told the BBC, “Our immediate priority now is to review all options for the company.
“Whilst a buyer for the business is sought, we expect to continue trading and we will look to work with the company's existing management team, suppliers, employees and customers to try and ensure that a solution is found to take the business forward,” Ms Dukes added.
The company is an automatic and industrial door supplier, installing a variety of systems, including but not limited to, automatic doors, fire resistant shutters, entrance barriers, roller shutters and garage doors.
Well-established company operating for over 23 years. Offers a range of driving positions, which include day runs, local runs, local shunting, nights out and tramping.
