The owners of Sunderland-based restaurant D’Acqua have issued a statement to say that they are putting the restaurant up for sale through specialist estate agent Christie & Co.
D’Acqua has traded from John Street in the Sunniside area of Sunderland’s city centre for the past 11 years, building up a strong customer base over this time. The restaurant specialises in a range of Italian, French and English cuisine.
In a statement released on the restaurant’s social media pages, owners Jimmy and Hannah Shadforth said that they are “testing the waters” by putting the restaurant up for sale, but said that it would continue trading as normal until any sale is made.
In the statement, the Shadforths said the business is performing well and would be sold as a going concern and that they are hoping to find future owners who would be suitable for continuing D’Acqua’s success.
“We aren't in a hurry to sell and by no means are we failing or anything like that. We just feel the time is right to start planning for our future. We will continue to put 110% into what we offer at D'Acqua.”
“Ourselves and the team will never want to change that. The staff whom have been informed of this decision can be rest assured their jobs are secure. We want to hopefully find suitable new owners to take over and keep D'Acqua being the success it is.”
Estate agents Christie & Co. describe the restaurant as part of Sunderland’s established food and drink circuit and that the building is well-maintained and decorated to a high standard.
In the restaurant’s most recent results, to the year ending June 30th 2019, D’Acqua had turnover of £460,061 and adjusted net profits of £76,599.
This is an exceptional opportunity to acquire a well-established and reputable Pan-Asian/Noodle restaurant in the heart of Glasgow's West End, benefitting from a prime trading position amidst a bustling retail and licensed area.
