Employees of Scottish integrated co-manufacturing company, the Simclar Group, have been told that they will know soon what the outcome of the sale process has been.
Simclar entered administration in June and the administrators from Deloitte have been keeping the company's operations running since then, while they have conducted a comprehensive search for a buyer or buyers.
Former and current employees of the company were told at a meeting in Dunfermline this week that the sale process is reaching a decisive stage and a result will be known soon as to whether the company can be bought out of administration.
Around half of the company's 200 employees were made redundant when the company entered administration. The business supplies wiring, looms and sheet metal products to major electronics firms and has operations both in the UK and China.
Local MSP, John Park, told the workers gathered for the meeting that he was actively supporting the search for a buyer and that it was in the best interests of all involved to keep communication and information channels open, with the aid of trade union, Community, which has been in negotiations with Simclar and which organised the meeting.
"It's in everyone's interests for businesses to do well and a progressive trade union like Community want to ensure everything possible is done to support the company at this time and make sure there is a viable business for people to remain employed by," explained Park.
