Glasgow-based internet service provider and managed IT specialist KubeNet has bought Aberdeen company ISN Solutions Group.
KubeNet offers a range of services from managed services to cyber security, cloud and voice.
ISN was established in London over 20 years ago, its focus was the Oil & Gas sector, specifically the Upstream market, where independent UK-based Exploration & Production companies had to rely upon a responsive IT partner to assist them with overseas onshore/offshore campaigns and fast-track growth strategies.
With a focus on Oil & Gas, an operational office was established in Aberdeen, following the acquisition of two local complimentary IT companies – Virtual Stream and Skibo Technologies.
Today its managed service client base stretches across the Energy industry as a whole and includes FTSE-listed organisations within the Telecommunications, Property and Transport sectors.
According to KubeNet this acquisition represents a key step in its ongoing expansion strategy, which combines organic growth with targeted acquisitions, boosted by a recent £2.25 million investment from Maven Capital Partners.
The move is set to enhance KubeNet’s service offerings and extend its geographical reach across the UK, particularly strengthening its presence in North-East Scotland.
Joining KubeNet allows ISN access to a broader range of capabilities, including KubeNet’s advanced Next Generation Network, enhanced connectivity, voice, cybersecurity, and cloud infrastructure solutions.
KubeNet director Fraser Ferguson said: “The acquisition of ISN is a natural fit for KubeNet, bringing together two businesses with a shared customer focus.”
ISN Solutions Group will continue operating under its current name during an initial transition phase before fully integrating into the KubeNet brand. Clients and suppliers have been assured that points of contact and service delivery will remain unchanged in the short term, with operational alignment planned progressively.
Scott Davidson, Managing Director at ISN, added: " KubeNet’s culture and values reflects our own and our combined ambition is to expand our position in the market and become the ‘go to’ cloud and managed service provider in the north-east of Scotland and beyond.”
