An online travel business is on the market after enjoying a period of rapid growth.
On The Beach was founded in 2004 by Simon Cooper from his house. The company arranges beach holidays for customers via teletext and a small call centre - a business proposal that proved to be a winning combination.
The firm grew rapidly and is thought to have made £10 million in earnings before interest, tax and other charges in the year to September.
Now, reports from the Sunday Times suggest that the firm's private equity group owner Isis is close to hiring a corporate advisory firm to sell the firm and hunt down a new investor.
Analysts have suggested that the online travel business could fetch in the region of £100 million when it is sold. It employs around 200 staff, predominantly from its Manchester base, and organises flights and hotels in Europe, North Africa, central America and the Caribbean.
On The Beach is only one of Mr Cooper's successful business ventures. Back in 1995 he founded On The Piste, a successful tour operator that organised cheap ski holidays for groups of students.
