The Lostwithiel Hotel Golf & Country Club has been sold to a local entrepreneur, it has been confirmed.
The 18-hole course was just one of three golf clubs to be sold recently by property consultants, GVA. The firm has also handled the sale of Old Nene Golf & Country Club in Cambridgeshire and the Eleven Arches Golf Club in County Durham.
Director of the hotels and leisure team at GVA, Ben Allen, commented: “Following on from our sale of Aston Wood Golf Club, which completed on 1 October 2012, these three further sales confirm that there is keen interest in the golf sector from a wide variety of purchasers throughout the country.
“Golf courses offer very good value for money, a lifestyle interest for many buyers, and provide the kudos of owning your own golf club.”
The Lostwithiel club boasts 28 letting bedrooms and clubhouse/function accommodation in addition to the 5,907 yard par 72 golf course. It is located between Liskeard and St Austell, close to the Eden Project.
GVA is thought to have a number of golf courses for sale in the pipeline and should be bringing them to the market sometime this year.
