Environmental risk reduction services firm Adler and Allan has continued its acquisitive growth with a deal for quality and engineering management solutions provider QEM Solutions. The deal is Adler and Allan’s eighth in the past three years and comes less than a month after its takeover of water and drainage specialist Public Sewer Services.
QEM has been operating for more than 20 years, providing a range of services to the highly-regulated water and gas industries, including professional services, inspections, surveys, technical consultancy, management and training and software.
The company supports design process management, assists with procurement and risk management and undertakes third-party inspections and audits for clients. Mike Williamson, Managing Director, Adler and Allan Water Division, said that the acquisition would bolster the company’s quality and engineering management capabilities and enhance its service offering.
Williamson commented: “We help organisations manage, improve, maintain, and upgrade their infrastructure so that they can solve their biggest environmental challenges such as managing energy transition and mitigating the effects of climate change.”
“This critical acquisition supports our mission and our ambitious growth plans, by bolstering our specialist quality and engineering management capability and enhancing our range of services to the gas and water sectors.”
QEM CEO Rob Graham said that Adler and Allan’s service offering and strong position in the environmental and utilities markets would enable the firm to offer its solutions to a wider customer base and provide “a full turnkey package of process management and engineering solutions.”
Adler and Allan Chief Executive Henrik Pederson said that the deal was the company’s fifth acquisition in the utilities sector and eighth overall in the past three years. He continued that it would strengthen the company’s position “as a turnkey partner to the utilities sector with services comprising strategic infrastructure advice, monitoring, data and analytics, front line operational capability, and environmental consultancy.”
Engineering and consultancy are two of the key tailwinds driving M&A in the environmental and sustainability services sector
