UbiQ Group, a civil engineering firm and specialist in access solutions, has been acquired by Warrington-based British Engineering Services (BES). The company, which was founded in 2018, has worked on projects at the stadium of football clubs Southampton and Tottenham Hotspur.
The Stoke-on-Trent-based group specialises in access solutions for those working in challenging settings or at height. It operates nationally and has a range of major clients spanning a variety of sectors, including civil engineering, energy, highways and railways.
Following the acquisition, the 20-strong company will join BES Group’s Infrastructure Division, alongside XEIAD, Inspire Structures and Inspired Access Solutions, which have all been acquired by BES Group over the past two years.
Jamie Holland, UbiQ Group director, commented: "Continuing to provide our customers with the same level of service is our ongoing priority and we are now looking forward to doing this with the support of BES Group."
BES Group has acquired UbiQ in order to enhance its suite of end-to-end risk management services, with CEO John Campbell saying that the UbiQ team would “bring with them a range of impressive skills that will really support the wider BES Group."
Campbell added: "We continue to focus on growing our business, organically and by acquisition. UbiQ Group join rak Inspection in becoming part of BES Group and have helped ensure we are already making great progress on this front in 2024. With more acquisitions in the pipeline, we look forward to sharing more news about our ongoing business growth soon."
KBS Corporate advised on the deal and Nathan Leah, KBS Associate Director (M&A), said that UbiQ directors Jamie Holland and Stuart Alcock “have built an excellent business which showed consistent growth and development from its foundation.”
He continued: "BES Group was the perfect acquirer in reality and showed keen interest from our first engagement. It was a pleasure to work with them also. I wish all parties nothing but the best for the future and during the next stages of integration and development.”
