A large warehouse in Avonmouth has been taken over by furniture chain Harvey’s, according to media reports.
The 66,000 square foot depot was sold by commercial property firm Colliers International, acting jointly with BNP Paribas and Burbage Reality, according to a report on the This is Gloucestershire site.
Formal Investments Ltd bought the industrial space and it will now be taken over by Harvey’s and used as their main distribution centre for the South West and Wales regions.
Nicholas King, a director of Formal Investments, is quoted by This is Gloucestershire as saying, "We are pleased to have purchased a property of this size in such a prime location and delighted to have secured the tenancy of Harvey’s so quickly."
Colliers International industrial specialist Jonathan Allen, said, "Avonmouth continues to attract interest because of its unrivalled position at the centre of one of the country’s main distribution hubs. It is also encouraging to see such a major player on the retail scene bucking the downturn and consolidating its West Country operations."
He added that the depot was one of the last large warehouse units available in the area.
