Sports management agency Kennedy Mckeand has gone into administration amid a reported fall-out between the company’s directors.
Kennedy Mckeand Agency (KMA) represents some of the UK’s best up-and-coming football talents, including Manchester United midfield Tom Cleverley. However, the company has gone out of business after its founders and partners Simon Kennedy and Iain Mckeand had “an alleged major fall-out”, the Daily Mail has said.
As a sports agent, Kennedy had represented leading figures such as Brian Lara, Stan Collymore and Jimmy White. He first created Time Management Global Limited in 1999 and later formed International Artists Limited, which was sold to Kennedy McKeand Agency LLP in 2009.
KMA now represents the likes of Victor Anichebe, Tom Cleverley and Scott Dann. World Cup hopeful Cleverley was purportedly planning to release his TC23 clothing range but it is unclear whether or not this will go ahead now that his agency has entered administration.
David Wilson of Leeds-based DFW Associates has been appointed as the company’s administrator. Neither this company nor KMA have commented on the news as of yet but it is claimed that KMA is no longer located at its trading address at 58 Spring Gardens.
For the sports agency’s main star Tom Cleverley, it is the latest blow in a line of bad news; the midfielder was substituted at half-time in his side’s loss to local rivals Manchester City on Tuesday as his poor form continued. Cleverley has also found himself the subject of an online petition from England fans attempting to have him banned from the national team squad for this summer’s World Cup.
