Fantasy Island, a seaside theme park near Skegness, has been placed into the hands of administrator Duff & Phelps.
The popular 41-acre attraction, which draws up to 40,000 visitors a day, is continuing to trade while the administrator runs the rule over its finances.
Features to the park include rides, live acts including a British oompah band and tribute performers, 340 static caravan pitches and “Europe’s largest seven-day market”.
It is expected that no job losses amongst the 52 permanent and 120 seasonal staff will be made as a result of the situation.
The administrators said the business owned by Conduit Skegness is to trade as usual while the various operations run on the site are assessed.
Paul Clark, from the administration team, commented on the proceedings: “Fantasy Island is an important leisure destination and as we head into one of the busiest months of the year it is very much business as usual.”
The present situation will have no effect on customers’ experiences, he went on to add. The staff can also relax about their jobs during the busy summer period. It is unclear what may happen in the winter, however.
Potential buyers are invited to log their interest with the administrators.
