Mimosa Health Care Group Limited, the owner of 22 care homes, has entered administration and is seeking a buyer.
None of the homes are to be closed in the foreseeable future despite the operating company’s decision to call in the administrators. The news has come because the Mimosa Health Care Group has been badly affected by the difficult economic climate and reduced occupancy levels, the York Press reported.
Kerry Bailey and Sarah Rayment, business restructuring partners at BDO LLP, have been appointed as the company’s joint administrators. Bailey has stated that the company will continue to run as usual while a sale of the business is sought. She also claimed that all of the company’s staff had been retained and that BDO will be doing all it can to minimise the number of redundancies that have to be made.
Based in South Yorkshire, Mimosa Health Care operates 22 care homes across the UK, looking after around 1,000 people and employing an even greater number: 1,172.
Kerry Bailey said: “Regrettably, the difficult economic climate and reduced occupancy levels have significantly affected the company.
“Our first and main priority as joint administrators is to ensure continuity of care and provision for all residents living in Mimosa homes. We are working hand in hand with professional care operators to ensure this remains the case and that residents experience minimal disruption and worry.”
