A buyer is being sought for mechanical and electrical engineering firm H Barnes & Sons after it was placed into administration on 22 January 2013.
The Manchester-based business, having suffered cash flow difficulties, is now in the hands of administrators Stephen Clancy and Steven Muncaster from Duff & Phelps.
Duff & Phelps released a statement, which said: “Stephen Clancy And Steven Muncaster of Duff & Phelps were appointed joint administrators by the directors of the company.
“(It) ceased to trade on the date of the appointment and the company’s 13 employees were made redundant due to financial difficulties.
“The joint administrators are currently seeking a sale of the business and assets and are in discussions with interested parties.”
Founded in 1960, H Barnes & Sons offered its services to contractors, consultants and end users across the UK from its base in Salford, Manchester. It holds Gas Safe, SafeContractor and NICEIC accreditations.
Its wide range of services included the manufacture, installation and maintenance of air conditioning, water systems, ventilation systems, electrical controls and systems and heating plants.
Operating across North Yorkshire, the company has two divisions, one that provides IT infrastructure and one offering renewable energy solutions, including solar PV systems and electric vehicle charging points.
The group specialises in supplying and installing UPVC windows, doors and conservatories in a wide array of styles. Bespoke bathroom panelling and high-quality guttering products are also provided by the two companies.
