Tue, 18 Nov 2014 | ADMINISTRATION
Programme sales and licensing business Electric Sky Productions, along with related firms Electric Sky and BTV Post, have been placed into administration, rendering 21 without a job.
FRP Advisory is now the administrator to all three companies. Technically three separate companies the trio share the same premises in Brighton and Hong Kong.
CEO David Pounds and three other staff members are remaining with the business to assist the administrators in working to repay creditors.
The administrators confirmed in a statement that the business and assets are being marketed to buyers.
The statement read: “The joint administrators continue to work closely with senior management to liaise with the businesses’ array of customers and suppliers to ensure an orderly realisation of value of the businesses and assets being marketed for sale.”
Electric Sky Productions ran into difficulties after a large contract was suddenly greatly reduced, leaving its management with little choice but to enter administration.
The businesses are behind shows such as A Place in the Sun, Adventures in Doggie Daycare, Crazyland, Fat Doctor, Ripped Kids and Sky High Scrapers. Mr Pounds, previously the managing director of TVF plc, established Electric Sky in 1998.
BTV Post is in charge of digital media services including content management, post production and video transfer and conversion.
