Construction and design specialist, Dennis Cox Building Services, has filed its intention to appoint an administrator to allow the business some time to stem its cash flow issues.
The move will ensure that Dennis Cox will not be subject to pressures from creditors or winding-up petitions for a minimum of ten days.
Based in Slough, Dennis Cox has been established for over 30 years and recorded sales of £15 million with a pre-tax profit of £508,000 in its most recently filed accounts.
High profile customers have included Harrods, Proctor and Gamble and Berkeley Homes and the company counts work on Wembley Stadium, Imperial Wharf, and the Olympic Athletes Village amongst its projects. It covers design and build, electrical, mechanical and maintenance work.
Top Service, the construction credit reference firm, has had 15 reports of non-payment by Dennis Cox from customers.
Louisa Morgan, operations manager at Top Service, told the Construction Enquirer: “It is our insider intelligence that resulted in us monitoring the company carefully over the last few months. There were no other warning signs.
“Being able to provide our customers with a early warning resulted in us being able to collect some accounts for them.”
In the news section on the company website, Dennis Cox informs readers of its new managing director, Mr Les Asker, who started in his new role on 22 April 2013.
