Skillsfinder UK has joined the ranks of businesses in administration this week following resolutions passed by the board of directors.
Established in 2007, the company subcontracted apprenticeship training services to around 75 different UK-based organisations.
However, the business model has not been a success and the firm has been forced to bring in administrators from accountancy firm Chantrey Vellacott DFK.
Craig Povey and Richard Toone are working as joint administrators on the situation. Mr Povey, partner at the Chantrey Vellacott DFK Birmingham office, commented: “Skillsfinder UK Training had a number of contracts to deliver training to young people between the ages of 16 and 24 which it subcontracted out to various other providers.
“It appears the company's business model failed which has in turn had a knock on affect to other training providers based all over the country.”
He added that the company is conducting a full review Skillsfinder UK Training's assets and is holding discussions with providers to try and support the trainees who have been affected.
All trading at the company has halted and the company's 40 employees have been made redundant.
Operating across North Yorkshire, the company has two divisions, one that provides IT infrastructure and one offering renewable energy solutions, including solar PV systems and electric vehicle charging points.
The group specialises in supplying and installing UPVC windows, doors and conservatories in a wide array of styles. Bespoke bathroom panelling and high-quality guttering products are also provided by the two companies.
The company is a well-regarded specialist provider of hygienic wall, floor, and ceiling cladding systems. To complement its core supply of PVC cladding, the business offers hot welded joints to prevent the build-up of bacteria and can supply stainles...
