Two leading law firms in Yorkshire have confirmed that they are in discussions regarding a merger of the businesses.
Lupton Fawcett Lee & Priestley is talking with Denison Till about the potential for a merger. Both firms focus on the mid-market and offer legal services in the wealth creation area. They work with private and public limited companies, as well as providing private wealth preservation services to the proprietors of these firms.
Richard Marshall, managing director of Lupton Fawcett Lee & Priestley, expressed admiration of Denison Till's practice: “The Denison Till team have built a tremendous and high quality law firm serving the vibrant York and wider North and East Yorkshire markets.
“Combining our two businesses will create a tremendous platform to jointly better serve that market.”
Managing partner of Denison Till, Jonathan Cripwell, added that the merger is “a very exciting opportunity” that would provide a stronger platform from which to deliver services to existing clients while growing the client base. He added that the merger should also allow the companies to develop a wider geographical offering in the Yorkshire region.
Both companies are well-established. Denison Till is currently based in York, while Lupton Fawcett Lee & Priestley has offices in Leeds and Sheffield and is ranked as one of the region's top ten law firms.
