Communications provider Southern Communications Group (SCG) has announced the merger of three regional businesses into a new brand. The company has merged Horizon Telecoms, Eurolink Connect and Channel Comms to form Southern Communications Group South West (SCG SW).
The new brand will be headed by a new strategic leadership team, with the division comprising 32 team members working under Managing Director Claire Maddox, previously of Eurolink Connect. The division has a collective turnover of around £7 million and, following the merger, will undertake a growth plan in the South West region and beyond.
Claire Maddox commented: “SCG is a leader within the industry, operating its own diverse network and hosted Cloud telephony platforms, alongside strong partnerships with leading network providers.”
“As an Internet Service Provider (ISP), SCG has the infrastructure, skills, and experience to deliver secure unified communications. The culture and emphasis of SCG is around trust and doing the right thing for its customers, fitting perfectly with the heritage of the three acquired businesses.”
Maddox added that the merger would enable the new brand to enhance its regional coverage, improve the skills of its senior leadership, increase its team and customer support and provide an expanded range of products to clients, with "more depth, greater agility, and positioning to support our customers’ needs.”
She continued: “These changes are part of our drive to increase and improve our service offering, expand our service team, and achieve our commercial objective to be a business with purpose, in not just fulfilling our sustainable objectives but in becoming the region’s Managed Service Provider of choice.”
SCG was founded in 1965 and has grown to become a leading communications provider. The business has expanded significantly through acquisitions in recent years, acquiring Horizon Telecoms in December 2021, Eurolink Connect in April 2022 and Channel Comms in December 2022.
