Law firms Hewitsons and Moorhead James are set to join forces in a merger that will bring them together under the name Hewitson Moorhead.
The deal is due to complete on 1 July after the partners agreed the plans with each other earlier this month.
The new firm will bring the teams together to establish a firm with 46 partners and 120 legally-qualified personnel in total. Its revenue will top £16 million and the company will work from the two firms' current offices to boast locations in Cambridge, Milton Keynes, Northampton and London.
Colin Jones is the current managing partner of Hewitsons and he will take on the same role within Hewitson Moorhead.
He commented on the merger: “This merger represents an important step for our expanding presence in London and we are delighted to have found the ideal partner in Moorhead James.”
He added: "The merger strengthens our geographical reach and consolidates our leading position in Cambridge, Northampton and Milton Keynes by offering our clients additional practice area expertise where they require – for example in the sports and AIM arenas.”
Hewitsons is a UK Top 200 law firm and has been operating in Euston, London since 2013. Bringing it together with Moorhead James will expand the size and scope of its operations significantly.
