Global law firm Clyde & Co has expanded its presence in North America by merging with Dallas-based Tillman Batchelor.
London-based Clyde & Co, with almost 70 offices across six continents, said partners Mark Tillman and Colin Batchelor will ‘join us as partners and bring on members of their Dallas team as part of our latest expansion of our North American and global insurance practice’.
Tillman Batchelor LLP serves the litigation needs of domestic and international insurance carriers and their insureds, along with numerous other business entities on a direct representation basis throughout the US.
It specialises in insurance coverage and consultation surrounding bad faith, professional liability, surety, construction litigation, and creditors rights/bankruptcy.
Alongside Tillman and Batchelor, the company employs six other people.
Carolena Gordon, Clyde & Co's senior partner, said: “Texas is an important market for our US and global insurance clients seeking coverage and defense services, and we are pleased to strengthen our team and southwest presence to better serve them. As our clients’ needs become more complex, this merger further reinforces our position as the leader in insurance coverage litigation in the US and globally.”
Eileen King Bower, Partner and Chair of its North American Board, added: “We are pleased to welcome our new Dallas colleagues to Clyde & Co. The group brings a strong record and reputation in trial and defense as well as insurance coverage disputes, and a culture of client excellence that we value strongly.”
Mark Tillman said the merger was a "natural step" with "clear synergies between our practices and clients".
"Our clients in Dallas and beyond stand to benefit significantly, as does our entire team. We will make the most of the national and global opportunities to grow and develop our practices and people," he said.
Clyde & Co opened its first North American office in New York in 2006. Since then, the firm has grown to 19 offices with more than 400 attorneys across the United States and Canada, including over 90 partners.
