The White Room, a business and technology consultant, is going to be bought out by its management.
The Manchester-based company, that also has a strong presence in London, announced yesterday (28 April) that it is going to be bought back by its original owner Andy Lovatt. The firm, which provides digital strategies and training, merged with Mediasmiths International in 2012 but Mr Lovatt now wishes to purchase the company back so it can refocus on progressive technologies, Prolific North reported.
The pending MBO will see Andrew Brearley move into the role of managing director and Stuart Almond join as operations director. Founder Mr Lovatt, who is also the director of The White Room, said that under this new management team the company would have “a clear vision of where media technology training is heading in the digital era”.
The company has assured existing clients that its products and services will not affected by the buyout. The White Room also stated that it would continue to work with Mediasmiths in the UK and across the Nordics and Asia Pacific regions.
In explaining the reasoning for wanting to refocus the company, Mr Lovatt said: “Training and knowledge management are being transformed by new technologies and learning practices.
“Training is a key component for any successful business, but getting the right training to the right people to make an impact for the business has always been challenging. But now, with the rapid development of digital technologies, effective and tailored training can be deployed to enhance operational performance, customer services and deliver measurable business improvement.”
The finer details of the deal, which is yet to be completed, have not been released at present.
