Homefair Blinds has been acquired in an MBO led by a trio of directors. Steve Ellithron, Claire Ripley and Shaun Welsh have successfully acquired the company, which is headquartered in Seaham, County Durham and Manchester, from retiring director Jonathan Fitton.
The company, which both manufactures and sells blinds and shutters, is looking to develop and grow its product offerings in the wake of the MBO, with the three leading the buyout having both significant knowledge of the sector as well as plans for business growth.
Sales and customer service director Steve Ellithron has been with Homefair Blinds for over 22 years, and commented on the buyout: “We have a fantastic team and are proud of what we have achieved at Homefair Blinds, which we aim to build upon as owners of the business.”
"We have exciting plans for the future as part of our overall vision including, increasing our digital presence and showroom portfolio, particularly in the North West.”
Shaun Walsh, who joined the firm in 2017 as operations director, added: “With blind technology continuously developing, we will also be extending our product portfolio to offer customers, safe cutting-edge window coverings.”
Ellithorn, Ripley and Welsh were advised on the deal by Square One Law. Marie-Louise Bozonet, corporate partner at Square One Law, said: "The management buyout is an important succession opportunity for the business and the significant experience in the new management team will set the business in good stead for the future."
Homefair Blinds was founded in 1985 and now employs over 180 people across the North East and North West of England. The company has more than 25 showrooms in the regions, along with two manufacturing plants in County Durham.
