C&M Travel Recruitment has jetted off in a new direction with a management buy-out (MBO) of its founder Angus Chisholm.
C&M Travel Recruitment sources permanent, temporary or fixed-term contract roles across a range of travel industry job titles such as reservations agents, travel consultants, business development managers, marketing executives and managing directors. Indeed, it has filled more than 20,000 roles across the industry since it was formed in 1998.
Its managing director and minority shareholder Barbara Kolosinska and sales director Duncan Tingle have led the MBO purchasing the remaining share capital from former Chairman and founder Angus Chisholm. The moves means the pair will own 100 per cent of the business.
Kolosinska and Tingle joined the company as recruitment consultants in 1999 and 2002 respectively and have both worked their way up through the ranks. Chisholm will remain with the agency as a non-executive director.
Kolosinska said: "I'm extremely proud of what we have achieved at C&M. I have worked with Duncan for over 22 years and know what an incredible recruiter and sales director he is and can't wait for the journey ahead with our very talented and loyal team. Hard work, commitment and loyalty really do pay off and I hope this shows anyone out there that anything is possible in your careers if you want it enough."
Chisholm said he was ‘delighted and proud’ to see C&M transition to its management team. “It's rewarding to know that the excellent business we have built over many years will continue to thrive under their leadership, and I look forward to supporting the next chapter as a Non-Executive Director. This marks an exciting new phase for C&M, and I am confident we will continue to grow and excel,” he said.
The deal was led by Mark Standish of Standish Advisory Services, with legal expertise provided by Andrea Smith of Franklins Solicitors, based in Milton Keynes.
The move comes at a time when the travel industry continues to recover from the disruptions of the pandemic.
