Blagden Packaging, a site at Trafford Park, has been sold for £5.2 million, it has been reported.
The 8.5-acre industrial and logistics complex was sold to the commercial development projects arm of Yorkshire-based developer Marshall Group. It is understood that the site will be redeveloped but Blagden is expected to continue to lease the site.
Investors are keen to get a spot on the high-profile Trafford Park site and the largest space on the park - around 2 million sq ft of warehouse space - is set to be bought by US firm Harbert for over £200 million. In addition, engineering company Luccini last week bought two adjacent warehouses on the site from Lantern Property for £1.1 million.
Speaking about Trafford Park, Simon Wood, investment specialist at Warrington-based B8 Real Estate, told the Manchester Evening News, “It’s the best industrial location in the north west, probably the best in the north, and arguably the best in the UK outside London and the south east, so it’s high on investors’ hit lists.”
He added that prices at Trafford Park, which houses around 1,400 businesses, are holding firm despite the fact that they are typically falling in other areas.
