The police station in St Andrews is expected to be sold to a commercial property developer as Fife Council looks to get the property off its hands.
Located in the heart of the town, the property is on the market for £1 million and is expected to be snapped up by a property developer or a golf company looking to take advantage of the town's reputation for the sport.
The property is about 5,600 sq. ft. in size, spread out across three storeys. It is located next to the town's main university building and opposite the Younger Hall, where Prince William graduated back in 2005. It has a cellular layout of offices and former police flats on the top floor at the moment.
A large car parking area and detached garage store to the rear are also included in the sale.
The selling agents Sheperd Chartered Surveyors noted that the sale will be a “rare opportunity to acquire freehold premises in the centre of St Andrews”. They added that the building has “the potential for a variety of commercial, leisure and residential uses, subject to planning”.
The police station itself has moved to the former NHS Fife health centre in Pipeland Road.
The company is an independent environmental consultancy that addresses groundwater and surface water management for clients within the UK.
Maintaining a fully stocked warehouse, the company provides a wide range of oak stair parts, mouldings, joinery parts, doors and flooring.Products can be designed and manufactured in-house to bespoke client requirements.
The company is a reputable provider of temporary and permanent office staff, serving West London and the surrounding regions, with placements ranging from entry roles to managing directors.
