Molson Coors' Burtonwood Brewery has been put up for sale ahead of the planned closure of the site at the end of the year.
The brewing firm announced last year that it would be leaving the Bold Land site in Burtonwood, which is currently shared with the Thomas Hardy Burtonwood bottling plant.
According to the brewery, they expect to close the 9.64-acre premises by the end of September. The business will then be brought to the market as a going concern by commercial real estate agents Colliers International.
Commenting on the announcement, Peter Vass, associate director at Colliers, stated that it would make the "ideal" site for a buyer seeking an established business that is well-suited to a rapid change of hands.
He said: "The Burtonwood Brewery is an ideal site because everything is already up and running – meaning new tenants can quickly move in, escalate their production and get out to market in the north and north west at a minimum expense."
According to the estate agents, Burtonwood Brewery comes fully equipped with five brewing lines, 33 fermenter vessels, a borehole water source, automated kegging line, filter house, cold storage and specialist draining facilities. The facility also includes an office space and staff canteen.
The brewery was sold to Molson Coors by Thomas Hardy Burtonwood in 2015, but it has been confirmed that the remaining Thomas Hardy operations on the site will be unaffected by the sale.
Molson Coors added that they hope the move away from Burtonwood will "help to drive efficiencies" within their own business as they transfer production to other UK sites.
