The Highbullen Hotel and Country Club, near Umberleigh, is up for sale with a guide price of £3.75 million and is being marketed through joint agents Savills and Knight Frank. Included in the deal is the main house, cottages, guest accommodation and leisure facilities.
Highbullen House is the main building. It was originally built in 1879 and contains 11 en-suite bedrooms, a large entrance and reception hall, snooker room, library, cellar bar, restaurant and commercial kitchen. An additional block holds 19 en-suite bedrooms and two three- and four-bedroom cottages.
Meanwhile, the property boasts a number of attractive leisure facilities onsite. There is a 18-hole gold course, a 20-metre swimming pool, sauna, steam and spa pool, gymnasium, dance studio, golf simulator and a function suite.
Martin Rogers, director at Savills Exeter, commented on the sale: “This is an excellent opportunity to acquire a truly unique property in a stunning part of Devon. In addition to the hotel and challenging golf course there are extensive leisure facilities and an impressive function room.”
He added that there is also around 80 acres of woodland included in the property and 900 yards of single bank fishing on the River Mole.
