Titanic Studios, a 42,000 sq ft unit on Queens Road in Belfast, has been put up for sale. The sale was announced last week by specialist commercial property firm Riddell McKibbin. The price for the property is available upon request.
The studio is currently under license to American television network HBO and, since 2012, has been held by Belfast Harbour Commissioners on a 250-year lease. Much of HBO’s worldwide hit show Game of Thrones was filmed at the studios.
The site is a standalone steel portal framed building housing the MacQuitty and Hurst stages. The space is made up of two large clear span studios connected by an acoustic door and equipped for combined use as a single space.
The three-acre site is situated next to the Titanic slipway and Victoria Wharf on the River Lagan’s east bank, at its meeting point with Belfast Lough. The studios are located around 1.5 miles to the east of Belfast’s city centre.
Commenting on the sale, Riddell McKibbin Director Mark Riddell said: “This is a truly unique space and there will be no doubt much excitement as this studio, now known all over the world due to shows filmed here, comes to the market.”
