What was once a commercial property operating as the East Dunbartonshire Council office building is to be transformed into a boutique hotel.
Boclair House, located at the bottom of Boclair Hill, came on the market last January for £1.5 million. The building was purchased by WPH Developments Ltd/Westpoint Homes and is set for redevelopment.
Work is expected to begin towards the end of summer and once operational, the hotel will provide around 34 full-time and 20 part-time jobs to locals.
David Mawhinney, development manager of the purchasing party, told the Milngavie Herald: “The established landscaped garden ground is an important and advantageous feature for the hotel, as we hope that the hotel will attract considerable interest as a wedding venue.”
The building is a red sandstone Tudor Gothic mansion and is Category B listed. It was first build by the Buchanan sisters of Bellfield in 1890 and has been held as a local landmark ever since.
The business offers a unique opportunity to invest in a company dedicated to providing exceptional care while promoting independence for young adults.
The business was founded over 15 years ago and is well renowned for their holistic service; delivering a compassionate, reliable and professional service to the variety of Children and Adults they support.
The business provides sought after services to assist NHS Mental Health Trusts and CCGs. Currently clients being supported are living with various diagnoses including; Learning Difficulties, Autism, Schizophrenia and Depression.
