The Balmoral Hotel on Blackpool’s seafront has been put on the market for £925,000. The hotel is located 200 yards from Central Pier on Blackpool’s Promenade and within walking distance of iconic attractions, including the Pleasure Beach and Blackpool Tower.
The four-storey property has 46 ensuite rooms, with four third-floor rooms having been converted into private accommodation. The new owner would be able to convert these back to letting rooms, potentially taking the hotel back to 50 rooms.
The Balmoral also features a cabaret bar, restaurant and sun lounge. The restaurant holds up to 150 covers and has a kitchen, walk-in fridge and beer cellar. There is also a patio seating area to the front of the hotel, providing up to 20 covers.
Other features of the hotel include an internal garage and workshop with room for two vehicles, a staffroom, store room, food store and boiler room.
The hotel provides regular entertainment and the restaurant caters to both guests and non-guests. Currently, the Balmoral is run on a seasonal basis, operating as a full-time hotel from June to November. Out of season, it runs on a B&B basis, as a bar and is open on Christmas and New Year.
Over recent years, the hotel has seen turnover decline (from £184,000 in the year ending March 2016 to £139,000 in 2018) as a result of the owners opting to reduce opening hours and some services.
