Commercial property firm Bruntwood has exchanged contracts to buy Centre City, a landmark office building in the heart of Birmingham, close to the station and the Bull Ring shopping centre.
Bruntwood's Development Director, Peter Crowther, said, “The acquisition of Centre City is fantastic news for Bruntwood in Birmingham. We have been in the market for some time looking for the right opportunity to expand our flexible customer-focused offer and Centre City will allow us to do just that.”
The 20-floor building, bought for £19.7 million, offers 208,000 sq ft of office space as well as 206 car parking spaces. It is already a base for companies such as Legal & General and Ofwat, and offers flexible commercial space with impressive views across Birmingham.
There is currently 25,000 sq ft of space available to let and this is being refurbished ready for new tenants. Bruntwood has announced plans to invest over £4 million in renovating the property and will add an entirely new entrance and reception area this year.
Peter Crowther added: “Centre City will enhance our presence in the marketplace and reflects our long-term plans for growth within the city. With our further investment in Centre City and our flexible terms, it will offer great value for money which we hope will appeal to Birmingham’s dynamic and vibrant business community.”
