A Dutch Managed Service Provider (MSP) acquirer Your.Cloud has expanded into the UK after buying Exeter and Manchester-based HDUK.
HDUK, launched in 2010, styles itself as the UK's de-facto private cloud specialist for small and medium accountancy businesses. Over 7,500 professional business users utilise its hosted desktop solutions to deliver IT Services with clients seeing an average increase in productivity of 30 per cent.
It also colourfully describes its cyber and data protection protocols as being like a 'six foot five burly security guard that never sleeps'.
The deal marks Your.Cloud's arrival in the UK and, it said, is an important new milestone in its journey to become the number one MSP in Europe.
"By leveraging the know-how and best practices from Your.Cloud, HDUK aims to become the value-added IT services provider of choice to its customers. Your.Cloud aims to leverage HDUK's expertise and grow Your.Cloud's presence through future buy-and-build in the UK," Your.Cloud said.
HDUK's entire management and leadership team will remain post-acquisition and will continue to operate independently within the Your.Cloud group of companies.
Matthew Healey, CEO at HDUK, said: "HDUK is proud to be taking the next step in its journey by joining the Your.Cloud family. Whilst still providing our customers with the premium and personal service they have come to expect, we will benefit from being part of a larger group of decentralised European IT companies. This means faster adoption of technological advances and the sharing of best practices will help our customers to concentrate on what they do best and leave the IT to HDUK."
John Reynders, CEO at Your.Cloud, added: "HDUK is one of those examples where years of focus pays off to become a leader in a specific segment. Their position in the accountancy sector in the UK is very impressive and can only come from building the trust and knowledge needed to build services that are aligned with the needs of the sector. In speaking with the HDUK team we quickly concluded that we would be a very good fit together."
