Hotel Verta - which was one of the major assets of collapsed hotel chain Von Essen - has been put up for sale for around £20 million.
Numerous assets belonging to Von Essen - which went into administration in April, owing £250 million – are now on the market, with Verta being marketed through Christie & Co.
The hotel, which is located on the South Bank in London between Battersea and Wandsworth Bridges, comprises 70 bedrooms with views over the Thames, a top class restaurant - Patrisey - and a luxury spa.
According to Eat Out Magazine, Hotel Verta is on the market on behalf of the joint administrators of Hotel Verta Limited and Verta Properties Limited, Maurice Moses and Angela Swarbrick, and offers are being invited for the 150-year lease, which has 145 years remaining.
Director of London Hotels for Christie + Co, David Creamore, told the publication, “The sale of Hotel Verta represents a superb and rare re-branding opportunity for existing operators or for potential investors to gain a stylish foothold in London's hotel marketplace.
“Its situation near the London Heliport, its views over the Thames and its commitment to style and luxury make Hotel Verta one of the unique hotel experiences in the capital,” he added.
Christie & Co is also marketing for sale the other 27 hotels contained within the original Von Essen administration.
