Northumberland-based pub and hotel company The Inn Collection Group has acquired its seventh Yorkshire site taking its total number of estates to 26.
The Inn Collection, which is made up of estates across Northumberland, the Lake District, County Durham, Tyne and Wear and Lancashire, has completed the takeover of The Dower House and Spa in Knaresborough which will be refurbished in 2022 to align the site with the group’s other establishments.
The Inn Collection Group’s managing director, Sean Donkin, said: “We are excited to be growing our foothold in Yorkshire with the addition of The Dower House and Spa. It is a tremendous site, steeped in character and history in a stunning destination location. We are delighted to be bringing Dower House and its team into The Inn Collection Group family. It’s a great time for us to be joining the community in Knaresborough as we emerge from lockdown restrictions."
He added: “As an established brand in the North East and West of England, we are looking to increase our presence and customer base here in Yorkshire, with our proven offering of food driven pubs with quality accommodation."
The group also includes The Stables in Whitby and The King’s Head Inn at Newton-under-Roseberry as part of its Yorkshire portfolio and works are currently underway to develop Northallerton’s former police station into a 32-bedroom pub with rooms by spring 2022.
The Black Swan in Helmsley was also reopened in October following the completion of the first phase of a multi-million-pound refurbishment. This is set to be completed in Spring 2022 and will include 59 rooms in total.
