The hugely popular bar and restaurant 'The Brookmans' in Bradmore Green, Brookmans Park, has been put onto the market following the administration of owners, BBL Holdings.
BBL Holdings called in Fisher Partners to act as administrators last month, and The Brookmans is just one of the firm's assets to be sold off. Other venues to be sold include The Plough in Coton near Cambridge and The Vine in Ware, Hertfordshire.
The Brookmans - which is the only bar in Bradmore Green - is being sold through Davis Coffer Lyons, which has described it as a 'very well presented, food-led venue.'
The venue – which also includes an attached deli business – will continue to trade as normal until a buyer is found. The restaurant area can seat 166 customers inside, whilst the beer garden can seat a further 150. There is also a car park with 40 spaces, alongside the private owner's accommodation.
Davis Coffer Lyons' Chris Bickle told the Welwyn Hatfield Times, “The Brookmans offers the perfect opportunity for an experienced operator to take on this strong turnover business with genuine scope to develop trade.”
Welwyn Hatfield MP Grant Shapps is a fan of The Brookmans. He told the newspaper, "When I heard the news, I took it upon myself to buy a pint there. It’s the only pub in the village, and hopefully a buyer will come in for it.”
