Beakbane Limited, a Kidderminster-based specialist steel and fabric firm, has acquired a Milton Keynes manufacturer in a deal that boosts its manufacturing capabilities and expands its presence across the UK.
Crown Precision Engineering is a manufacturer of high-precision machined components and sheet metal fabrication. Following the acquisition, the company will be integrated into the Beakbane group.
The deal continues Beakbane’s strategic expansion following the company’s October 2023 acquisition of Midlands sheet metal manufacturer Radshape Sheet Metal out of administration. The acquisition was described as a key milestone in the company’s growth strategy, enhancing its operational capabilities, while expanding its expertise in delivering industrial protection solutions.
Commenting on the acquisition of Crown Precision Engineering, Beakbane Managing Director Mike Southwell said: “The acquisition of Crown Precision Engineering is a strategic move that will support our long-term growth ambitions. We appreciate the guidance provided by Wilkes throughout this process, which has been instrumental in securing a deal that aligns with our goals.”
Southwell continued that Beakbane would seek to leverage Crown Precision Engineering’s expertise “to continue delivering high-quality solutions to our customers.”
Beakbane was advised on the transaction by Wilkes’ Corporate team, led by partner Rick Smyth with support from solicitor Christie Nelson. The two firms have a long-standing relationship, with Wilkes having supported Beakbane on multiple acquisitions targeted at widening its service offering and bolstering its market position.
Rick Smyth said that the acquisition would “undoubtedly enhance [Beakbane’s] industry-leading capabilities”, adding: “Crown Precision Engineering’s expertise aligns perfectly with Beakbane’s vision and operational strengths.”
Smyth continued: “Our team ensured that the transaction was completed smoothly, addressing all potential risks and securing a seamless integration.”
