Three hotels on the Isle of Skye are up for sale after their operating companies entered administration.
The Bosville, Broadford and Marmalade hotels are all up for sale as going concerns. Until a buyer is found they will continue to be operated by administrators Zolfo Cooper, who are managing the assets of the operating companies, MJ Macleod and Company and Macleod Hotels (UK) Ltd.
Elizabeth Mackay, partner with Zolfo Cooper, told the BBC: “We believe that these well-established and quality hotels are attractive propositions for potential buyers and welcome expressions of interest from third parties.”
She added: “We would also like to thank the staff for their continued support and professionalism during this process.”
The Broadford Hotel is located in the village of the sale name, while the Marmalade and the Bosville are in Portree. Between them, the three businesses employ around 50 staff.
Zolfo Cooper were appointed as administrators on 3 June this year after continued cash flow problems put too much pressure on the hotels to allow them to continue to trade.
The last filed accounts for MJ Macleod and Company, which was established in 1965, showed that the business has current assets of just over £853,000 and cash assets of £1,200.
