Walker Sime, a property services consultancy with its headquarters in Manchester and offices in Liverpool and Leeds as well, has taken over local business WCP Associates.
An independent chartered quantity surveying and project management firm, WCP Associates has worked on a number of prominent building projects for blue-chip clients, most significantly Surf Snowdonia in the Conwy valley.
As a result of the acquisition, all of WCP Associates’ employees will move to Walker Sime’s office in Trafford Park, bringing the total headcount to 91 across all three locations.
The deal was advised by a number of legal firms, with Pannone supporting Walker Sime, and LLM acting on behalf of WCP Associates during the transaction.
Des Walker, the founder of Walker Sime, said: “We’re really pleased to get the deal done and to welcome some excellent new colleagues into the business. It’s great news for our clients, too, and will ensure that we continue to develop Walker Sime into one of the UK’s best independent property consultancies.”
Director of WCP Associates, Robert Seger, commented: “Walker Sime saw this as a tremendous long-term opportunity to capitalise on the wealth of experience and synergies of both businesses and we’re looking forward to joining the team of one of Manchester’s leading construction consultancies.
“There’s a really strong cultural fit and great chemistry and this felt like the next logical step in our development. Our clients will enjoy a greater depth of resource and additional services whilst our staff will benefit from a wider range of career opportunities.”
