Birmingham-based recruitment firm Driven Recruitment has been acquired by UK labour provider Pro-Force.
Founded in 2002 by Gary Mabberley, Driven Recruitment provides temporary and permanent staffing solutions in the haulage, construction, clerical and industrial sectors, with a strong focus on professional drivers. According to its most recent accounts it has around 13 employees.
Pro-Force said the deal marked a "crucial milestone" in enhancing its Worcestershire-based driving division, Pro-Drive, which has been operational since 2019 under the leadership of Thomas Blewett and Neal Morris.
Pro-Drive said it was committed to transforming the driver recruitment process and also providing tailored recruitment solutions to the industrial and construction sectors. By integrating Driven Recruitment, Pro-Drive said it would significantly strengthen its capabilities, offer expanded recruitment models designed to elevate driver standards, optimise operational efficiencies, and maximise productivity for clients across the UK.
Pro-Force Director, Craig Glover, said: "The acquisition of Driven Recruitment underscores our dedication to excellence and innovation in recruitment. We eagerly welcome the Driven Recruitment team, whose expertise and commitment will be instrumental in advancing our service offerings and driving success for our clients."
Mabberley of Driven Recruitment, added: "Joining Pro-Force's Pro-Drive division is a natural fit for us. Our goal has always been to deliver exceptional recruitment solutions, and this partnership will undoubtedly unlock new opportunities and benefits for our clients."
There could be more deals to come. Pro-Force said this acquisition is part of its ambitious three-year growth plan, "envisioning the addition of many more companies to the Pro-Force family".
The deal was advised by KBS Corporate.
Driver shortages have been an issue in the haulage sector for a number of years, exacerbated by Brexit and the pandemic. The Road Haulage Association recently declared that the UK's logistics industry will require 40,000 new HGV drivers annually for the next five years – to meet growing demand and to avoid any potential future driver shortages.
