A portfolio of properties including an office block on Belfast’s Great Victoria Street is being sold after the owner, Jermon Developments, went into receivership in June.
Osborne King is selling the properties which include Fanum House on Great Victoria Street, traditionally occupied by media businesses, live music venue and pub Filthy McNasty’s, and Killymeal House in South Belfast's Gasworks.
Anglo Irish Bank has hired Tom Keenan of Keenan CF to act as receiver to Jermon Developments.
Established in 1997 by former pharmacist Peter Dolan, the company remains in control of parts of its portfolio.
A planning application was submitted this year to build a 146-bedroom hotel on the Great Victoria Street site. Talks with Accor Hotels have also taken place with a view to developing the hotel under the Novetel and Etap brand names.
It is thought the site has many potential uses, both commercial and residential. Osborne King is selling the sites in two lots. One lot features Fanum House and its car park; the other includes Filthy McNasty’s and a charity shop Cancer Connect.
Fanum House is still home to the Irish Times, which is actually one of the last remaining occupants. The 11-storey building commands a rental income of £64,421, and its 69-space car park draws in £62,750 in rent.
Asking prices for the sites were not revealed.
