Tue, 04 Dec 2012 | BUSINESS SALE
Removal firm Pickfords has been bought out of administration, it has been confirmed.
The firm, which can trace its roots back around 400 years, was bought out of administration in 2008 by The Team Group. However, it faced difficulties again due to the continued problems with the housing market.
It has now organised a pre-pack deal through BDO, which has seen directors Yogesh Mehta and Timothy Romer take control of the business under a new shell company called Pickfords Move Management.
David Gilbert, a business restructuring partner with BDO, commented on the business sale: “With this sale, the business can now move forward on a secure financial footing.
“Going forward, it will be business as usual at all sites, operating under the Pickfords name, and all contracts, moves and orders will be fulfilled.”
Pickfords is headquartered in Wembley but began life as a moving and relocation carrier back in the 17th century when the Pickfords family carried goods on packhorses. It has now branched out to offer storage facilities and record management services, as well as an international moving service through its affiliate, Allied Pickfords.
