West Yorkshire-based Peter Jackson & Sons, which trades under the name Jackson Textiles, is set to be acquired by European private equity firm Tioopo Capital. The PE firm is due to acquire a majority stake in the business, which manufactures textiles for the pet sector.
Based in Barkisland, Halifax, Jackson Textiles manufactures fabrics for pet bedding using only sustainable raw materials, including fibres from recycled PET bottles and British Wool. The company has developed a strong reputation within the UK’s pet textile and bedding market.
Tioopo’s investment will enable the firm to pursue sustainable, dynamic growth, as well as local expansion to meet growing demand, with pet ownership having boomed during the COVID-19 pandemic. The deal represents Tioopo’s first UK acquisition.
Commenting on the deal, Jackson Textiles CEO Philip Jackson said: "We are proud to pursue our company's journey with Tioopo Capital and to reinforce our family business by forming a partnership that will provide us the right tools and expertise to catch our growing client order book."
Tioopo Capital co-founder Cyril Aboujaoude added: "We are delighted to announce our first deal in the UK and look forward to preserving the Jackson Family's culture around high quality in the fast-growing market of pet products. We realize the potential of this family-run business and will work alongside the management to meet it in every sense."
