Berkshire-based Cyberfort, the cyber security services and solutions provider, has made a strategic acquisition to help it meet its goal of becoming the UK’s largest independent cyber security service provider within the next three years.
It has bought Hove-based ZDL Group, a provider of managed security services, penetration testing, ethical hacking, and bespoke cybersecurity training. It has an international, multi-sector customer base of more than 120 clients and a team of over 40 skilled cybersecurity professionals.
Cyberfort, backed by PE group Palatine, said the deal significantly expands its reach, enhancing its ability to serve commercial customers both within and beyond the UK.
Glen Williams, CEO, Cyberfort, said: “This is an important step on our journey as we look to grow our footprint and scale in the cyber security market. ZDL is a great fit for Cyberfort as it has a very strong pedigree for delivering agile, responsive security services including penetration testing, information security reviews and supply chain risk management through its Vendoor platform. It also has an impressive customer base. ZDL will integrate very easily with our existing business.”
He added that the deal will perfectly position Cyberfort to accelerate its market share growth in the UK and internationally, through organic growth and further strategic acquisitions.
Andy Strickland, Partner and technology sector lead at Palatine added: “In a world where cyber risks are ever-more prevalent and sophisticated due to the advancement of AI, we see a great opportunity for Cyberfort to strengthen its market position. The acquisition of ZDL strengthens our buy and build strategy, augmenting Cyberfort’s proposition with deep technical expertise and skills.”
ZDL Group managing director Kevin Roberts added: "Joining Cyberfort means ZDL customers will have access to a wider range of cyber security services to keep their businesses secure, resilient and compliant in an ever changing and complex cyber security landscape.”
