Patent and trademark firm Albright IP has acquired the client portfolio of Bristol-based intellectual property company JDIP. The acquisition, which comes as JDIP founder John Dean enters retirement, enables Cheltenham-based Albright IP to strengthen its presence in the South West, particularly Bristol.
JDIP was founded in 2015 and has since gone on to establish itself as a key player in the intellectual property industry. The company’s clients will now be served by Albright IP’s expanded team, with the aim of ensuring a smooth continuation.
Albright IP Managing Director Robert Games said that the deal came after John Dean approached Albright IP about acquiring JDIP’s client portfolio. Albright, which serves clients both in the UK and internationally, also has a base in London, as well as offices in Bournemouth and Cornwall.
Robert Games added: "We have made a deal to purchase the clients of the company. Most of the clients have now been engaged with and are moving forward with Albright IP.”
"We look forward to working with JDIP's clients and showcasing the broad range of IP sector experts we have within Albright IP. Clients will also benefit from our in-house trade mark department, which will be able to support the branding exercises of clients' moving forwards."
According to Albright IP, the deal has already led to new collaborations with referral partners from the Bristol area that had previously been associated with JDIP, creating beneficial new relationships for the firm in the area.
