Marketing services firm Media Square is considering its options, which could mean a sale or merger.
It has had early talks with several interested parties within the industry, as well as with some private equity companies. Lloyds Development Capital and HIG Capital have both shown interest in Media Square in the past few months.
The firm still has debts of £20 million dating back to the purchase of Incepta Group by the previous management in 2005, despite a recent, beneficial restructuring process led by its chief executive Peter Reid.
Media Square could also be merged or bought by a rival company. It is thought marketing businesses including Creston, The Digital Marketing Group, The Mission and Next Fifteen Communications might be interested.
Discussions with possible advisors, including Ingenious Corporate Finance, are understood to have taken place. None has yet been appointed at this stage, however.
According to its website, the holding company Media Square plc has, in total, over 900 employees and more than 700 clients using its services, which also include advertising, design, public relations and research.
It recently sold off its last non-core business, Arken, to Writtle Holdings, and may also spin off its freehold premises.
