M&A advisory firm GS Verde Group has completed its latest acquisition with the purchase of a corporate finance business based in the West Midlands. The acquisition of Anderson Shaw Corporate Finance is the third deal in GS Verde’s buy and build M&A strategy.
Founded in 2006, Anderson Shaw seeks to support business owners during the sale of their business, as well as providing advice for businesses looking to grow through M&A deals. The business was taken over by current Managing Director Peter Wilson in 2017.
Since then, Wilson has advised on a number of transactions with Anderson Shaw and will remain with the business following the acquisition, becoming part of GS Verde’s deal team.
Wilson commented: "We have been very impressed with GS Verde, and I am delighted that Anderson Shaw is able to join such a renowned dealmaking Group.”
"We work on numerous sale mandates, as well as acquisitions, but to be able to expand our offering with the provision of law, finance, tax and communications and provide a 'one team' solution, is something we are certain our clients will benefit from."
Along with its series of acquisitions, GS Verde has also made a number of other announcements in 2024 so far, including its admission on secondary markets share dealing platform JP Jenkins.
In May, the company also revealed that it would open a new office in Cheltenham as part of its plan to expand across the UK, with the new office providing a foothold in the West Midlands market. This presence has now been bolstered further by the acquisition of Anderson Shaw.
GS Verde Group Chief Executive Nigel Greenaway commented: "We are delighted to have acquired Anderson Shaw Corporate Finance and to welcome Peter and his team to The GS Verde Group.”
"The JP Jenkins placement earlier this year has enabled us to accelerate our plans to grow through acquisition and increase our regional footprint.”
"The move to Cheltenham, followed by the addition of Anderson Shaw to the business, has helped us to do both, by bolstering our offering and presence in the West Midlands region."
