A Solihull-based logistics firm has expanded its presence in the West Midlands with the acquisition of a Rugby-based rival. E-commerce and order fulfilment services specialist OnLogistics has acquired Exact Logistics for an undisclosed sum.
The company said that the acquisition would provide long-term opportunities for expansion, as well as a broader array of delivery services. OnLogistics works with clients across sectors including aerospace, healthcare, automotive and fitness.
Exact Logistics was initially founded in 2009 as a provider of palletised freight delivery services for businesses in Warwickshire. Since then, the company has expanded into final-mile distribution for European hauliers, primarily German, as well as establishing an in-house customs clearance team.
Following the acquisition, founders Adam and Karen Shuter will remain as Directors of Exact Logistics and the company will continue to operate as a separate entity. Existing customers are not expected to see any change to their current services of points of contact.
OnLogistics Managing Director Nick Bennett said: "I'm thrilled to be leading Exact Logistics on the next stage of its journey. Our portfolios are complementary so we can exploit the synergies to support customers to grow across sectors as well as geographically throughout Europe."
Karen Shuter commented: "We are confident that Exact Logistics will thrive under new ownership, with a promising future ahead. Importantly, OnLogistics is a family business just like us and shares the same values, particularly when it comes to customer service."
Exact Logistics is a member of hauliers network Pall-Ex Group and Adam and Karen Shuter will remain as shareholder members in the network following the acquisition.
Pall-Ex Group UK Managing Director Barry Byers said: "Exact Logistics has been a high-performing member of the Pall-Ex network for over ten years and the acquisition by OnLogistics will encourage growth and prosperity for the company.”
